On 30 May 2018 Live Cartoonist Maaike Hartjes worked during a meeting with the elderly, on the initiative of the elderly networks of the ZIF, NUZO and GENERO. The cartoons and a display of conversations with the elderly form the basis for a poster for the campaign The Elderly have the Floor.
Gain insight into what the elderly need, by allowing them to speak about their lives. That is the purpose of 'The Elderly have the Floor', where older people from different parts of the country are asked to tell about what they require. It is not unusual to invite older people to the table, to talk about the policy of an organization. But then you talk from an organizational structure, with associated system thinking and laws and regulations. By letting the elderly talk among themselves and reason from their personal life experience, we learn much more about their wishes and needs. The Elderly have the Floor is an initiative of the parent networks of the Zorginnovation Forum (Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel), NUZO (Utrecht and Gelderland) and GENERO (Rotterdam, The Hague, West Brabant).
