To be well prepared for the future, an initiative group with representatives from the Department of Waterways and Public Works (Rijkswaterstaat), provinces, municipalities and (semi-) public partnerships (Connecting Mobility, NDW, NWB, NBd) have joined forces. Together they have drawn up a plan to prepare the Netherlands for cooperative and self-driving transport. It was the task of live cartoonists Coen Braber and Eliane Gerrits to visualize the development together with the participants.

During this regional meeting we will take you into this plan and make an inventory of what is happening in the area of smart mobility. There is a development in the mobility system in which vehicles not only communicate better with each other, but also with so-called cooperative systems of other parties. These cooperative systems have considerable potential in areas such as traffic safety, accessibility, quality of life and asset management.
